AVA Cosmetic Pouch - FREE Pattern

I'm so happy to share with you this design I created for Hobbii Yarn, which is now available for FREE (here)!

When Hobbii approached me asking if I would be interested in creating some Tapestry Crochet patterns for them, I just couldn't believe it.
I've been designing for 4 years now, selling my patterns in my Etsy shop and dreaming of creating patterns for yarn companies, crochet magazines or even writing a book. I never imagined though that I would actually have the opportunity to make one of these dreams come true and I'm truly thankful for Hobbii to have made it possible!

I'm also really thrilled because it means that I will be able to create patterns that will be FREE for you!
I've wanted to create free content for so long, but it's nearly impossible when you don't have any kind of support or sponsorship. It takes a lot of time and work to create, design and make a pattern (either free or paid) so it's easy to understand that it is not financially sustainable to regularly create amazing free patterns when your only source of income is your pattern sales.

Without further ado, let me show you the beautiful cosmetic pouch that I've designed!

I love working with geometric shapes, especially triangles and diamonds. It's no surprise that they managed to find their way into this design :)
I called it Ava, because the up and down disposition of the triangles resembles the letters A and V and thus the name AVA seemed appropriate.

This is made with Tapestry Crochet technique!

It's an Intermediate skill level, so you need to know the basics of tapestry crochet, but I've tried to make it suitable for all skill levels. The PDF has a beginner friendly step by step structure with pictures and more detailed explanations. If you are a more experienced crocheter, rest assured, you'll be able to skip the step by step and go directly to the written instructions.

It has a tapestry chart and I've added information on how to make a different size. That way you can also use this design for a different project!

To make the pouch I used Hobbii yarn Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in:

- 16 Light Grey

- 09 Black

- 59 Dark Red

- 44 Rose

But you can use any 4 colors of your preference and you can find in the Hobbii website (here) all the material needed to make the pattern. You can, of course, use any equivalent yarn.

I even ended up making a second pouch, switching the grey and black yarns <3

I love the inside of tapestry crochet bags, but choosing a pretty fabric and making a lining for an extra polished finishing look would also be gorgeous!

I hope you'll enjoy this free pattern and if you want more free patterns in the future, then spread the word, download this pattern, give it some love on @thestoryofamulberry and @hobbii_yarn, leave some nice comments, share your finished projects... You know the drill :)
